Staying busy at home today, there is always something to do here gladly.
I'm happier here than anywhere else. It is good to get out of "Dodge", I do love my rides into rural areas, we drove 2 1/2 hours today to visit Zanesville, Ohio.Lots of country and beautiful scenery, it does my heart good...
I've got some chicken soup simmering ever so gently on the stove. It is not for supper tonight, but we will have it soon. I love homemade chicken soup & it is so good for us. Tis the season for & we need fortification for what my come.

So I received the icicles & they are lovely. Follow the link above, there are 2 places from which to buy these. One is from the original maker in Ohio, & the other is a very nice store which carries the same product from the maker, in Missouri. I am in Ohio so I chose the direct route, if that would not have been available, I would have purchased them from Kandye at Sassafrass Creek.

The basement is filled will all sorts of crocks, accessories and bowls, all 1/2 off. They have minor imperfections which do not affect the working of the piece. This is where we bought the fermentation crock, weights & lid, and the bread cloche.

I've just recently learned about a "bread cloche", this is not glazed on the inside of the dome, or the bowl. Research is needed to be done. You are supposedly able to proof,rise&bake your bread all in this wonderful little item. It is heavy. All made in USA State of Ohio.

Any of you ferment for saurkraut? I'd love to hear, hopefully you've posted about it, let me know. I am researching.
How about that bread cloche? Love to hear your experiences as I am also researching this.
Adding skill sets.....learning even at my age.

Oh, I was looking forward to seeing your new crock. I've never heard of a bread cloche before. You selected two very nice pieces.

Hi Jeanna, I just recently learned of a bread cloche. I think it is used primarily for sourdough, it steams the bread, it rises and bakes it all at the same time. I am in a learning curve and am looking for more information on the particulars as I don't have good results with the sourdough as a rule, and it doesn't often rise well and takes a long time. I'm hoping the cloche will help.
Interesting information about the bread cloche. I had never heard of such. I hope it works for you. The tin icicles are new to me as well.
I think we always need to learn something new. Those tin icicles are a new idea to me. Bet they sparkle on the trees. I have also never heard of a bread cloche, interesting.
