Back to life, back to reality..
....Summer vacation is over, back to school.
Youngest tallest 1st day was yesterday, and today already a 1/2 day. Remember when you didn't go back until after Labor day?

......Book covering fun....NOT! We have the cloth ones, but oh those just wont do. They damage the binding of the book. So....at the grocery store today asked for paper bags, doubled please...
? you don't want any plastic? did I stutter?
there is an online tutorial how to make book covers out of paper bags.
.....youngest tallest going for a weekend of tentless camping with the scouts, he was elected to go to the Order of the Arrow, ordeal. ( That is what it is called ....the ordeal). We drop him off on Friday and pick him up Sunday. Packing that backpack, and lugging it around for me is an ordeal enough. We'll see how he fairs.
Bought some Mojito Mint for my wee little garden. And some Russian Sage for the yard yesterday.
That's it for me, taking one to work, the husband took a 1/2 day today, the son goes a 1/2.
Off schedule, it happens some times.
Windows open, it's so quiet, I hear crickets, but no birds. Where did they all go? Didn't hear any this morning early either. It's that time of year I suppose. I've got my tub of Fall items out, maybe this weekend I'll get them out. Job #1 cover the books.

Loved the chit-chat this morning! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteI remember covering books with paper bags! Didn't know they did this, anymore, actually.
ReplyDeleteBut school doesn't start here, till first week of Sept.
Another thing from long ago, though..... Around the small village where I lived, were lots of farms. When it was haying time, the kids were let out of school, to help the haying on the home farm. Wonder if _this_ ever happens today? -smile-

Mojito mint sounds delightful. What will you use it in/for? I have regular mint ( in a container to keep it from spreading) but I must confess I never use it. I tried making mint tea but I'm not fond of it.
