Time is speeding up it seems

Where does time go? Here we are a week in a few weeks it will be Thanksgiving. It seems like only yesterday I was cleaning up the yard and preparing the garlic for spring, we've one snowfall already. The weeks are tumbling by, the trees silently changed, and now are traveling throughout the hood.

Have  you ever wondered where all the leaves travel to, if they just keep moving and moving?

Leaves are very good fertilizer, here where I live, people don't like flowers ( they attract deer & wildlife), they put poison on their grass so no weeds ( wildflowers grow), and they bag up and blow down the drive leaves so their yards are pristine.? And in the spring go by fertilizer to put on their grass, go figure.

I like the smell of the leaves, the earth & woodlands. Raking leaves ( when I was younger) and had young children was fun. We used to have a very large tree and the leaves were large, I think it was a tulip tree we had piles and piles of leaves, back then we would let the boys play in the leaves and them bag them up, now the city comes round the hood and takes them, for guess what? Fertilizer & Mulch.

The other day it was warm, and I went out, it was one of those breezy beautiful fall days, and the leaves were on the move, the very sound of them traveling along filled me joy, as it must have triggered something in my memory of childhood. The wind was carrying them along sideways and they were falling from the trees, all dry and crunchy.

I digress, here we are at Thanksgiving door. Time always goes so quickly this time of year, and soon we will be all over the hoopla, it will be January and then time stands still doesn't it? The promise of Spring will be waiting for us.

Oh my goodness, no truer words have ever been spoken. I love the fall days when the leaves look like rain coming down and the leaves look so pretty on the ground. Oh there comes a day when I have to give in and start raking but I do enjoy the beautiful leaves. And you're right about the days flying past...and then January arrives and time stands still. Sure enjoyed this post.

Here in Canada Thanksgiving was last month. Now we are in the rundown to Christmas and the time of its arrival is just too close. I really don't know where the time goes.

God bless.

Hope this finds that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Yes, time seems to just slip away faster and faster.........you blink, and week is already finished! I so agree with how fallen leaves are so beneficial to the soil .
