Weeding, Crocheting & keeping cool

Good Morning !

It's just turning 7:00 am. I awoke at 6:30, turned on the coffee and put out the flag. I love the early morning shadows, the air was cool, and there was dew on the grass, it is lovely. We had a lovely cool (cooler) day yesterday high 70's perfect. It's going to heat up the rest of the week, so the windows have been closed for now and the a/c set, before it gets to hot. Did some weeding in my wee front garden yesterday, and to my delight, the Queen Annes Lace seed I scattered about last year has yielded a few gems.

There were many weeds, those prickly kind, those are fun to pull. I was curious as to what to look for as far as the Queen's leaves, I looked it up and then went out to the garden to see if there were anything like that growing, there, among the weeds a pretty good size one, and with a bud...the internet page I looked up said there wouldn't be any flower until the 2nd season. I sure was tickled. Mine is still in the bud stage forming....but look at this beauty, and the keen eye of the photographer perfect timing.

Queen Ann's are so lovely.

perfect catch by the camera. It looks as though it will pop any minute.

Working on the crochet shawl/scarf. I had to frog it several times, for the life of me I just can't seem to use a hook size larger then G, I crochet loose maybe that's why, and when I use a larger hook the stitches are not as even.

In the past, I've made Queen Anne's Lace jelly. Pretty good too. Just not good for pregnant women or woman trying to get pregnant.

I just found your blog and enjoyed this posting very much. I love the Queen Anne's lace flowers. They are scattered all over our fields, roadsides, and mountains now. Good luck with your crocheting.
