It was a hot one, and humid too. But even that out in the country was a wee bit more tolerable. Oh how I love my rides out to the country. I get physically sad when I have to come back to citified Dodge. But I take pictures...look at this charmer.
Where we go is a National Park System, and it is intermixed with farmhouses and residential areas, no fast food, gas stations, lights, etc....Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
The bee lady was there but they didn't have any of the Cinnamon Honey, she said it would next week. I bought some beautiful garlic from a sweet young amish couple. Going to save a few to plant in the fall. A little Rhubarb for pies, getting to the end of the season for that.
I bought this little pie tin of cornbread. Oh my it was more like Cornbread cake. Sweet, creamy and ever so moist. I've got some veggies to wash off, and rhubarb to cook down. So I better get to it.
Do any of you ladies use Robin Hood Flour? This has been my flour for years and years. Did you know that it is be discontinued? I saw a note at the store, so I contacted them and they said there wasn't enough support for the product. WHAT? They were glad to have the feedback, and would pass the information on. I sent my email to JM Smucker who makes the jams/jellies. They are on the retail side, I received a response from Pillsbury. So if any of you would like to contact them and use Robin Hood here is the link/phone number, may make a difference.

ReplyDeleteYour goodies you bought at the market sound so wonderful and that bridge is so beautiful and welcoming! I agree with you about country life.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of Robin Hood Flour........but I have never seen it available in our part of the nation.
It is sad to see these wonderful companies to die out.
Thank you all for stopping. :)
