Chit chat over the fencepost

Howdy to you !

Taking a rest for a moment, I got the organization bug, and I'm a whirlwind....well at least for me. I have a tendency to overdo and then I'm tired for suppertime. I've got chicken in the slow cooker, I'm thinking...chicken & dumplins, with some of my world famous not hucky puck biscuits. The weather is cool, ( not complaining & wet ) more rain coming today...at some point it's going to be hot and dry.

? for you bakers of the biscuits?   I'm following the recipe on the bag of self rising flour, I added 1 tsp of baking powder on my own...they are not real tall. What do you do to make your biscuits tall? They are good tasting and good consistancy, they are just rather short...I also use buttermilk.

I'll be taking the chicken off the bone, and thickening up the gravy. Egg dumplins....it smells good. Biscuits don't take long and they will be last minute. I'll just finish up the destuffing. A few more things to goodwill, and a couple to the consignment store, and that should be it for now. I'm not going in Goodwill, just dropping off 😏

When I bring something new in, something goes out, I think I have it down to a reasonable threshold now. I don't know what we will do, if we will stay where we are or not, if not I surely don't want to have to go through everything and try to decide at the time. If we stay, then I will have things orderly and can find them.

 

I'm waiting on one last item for the candle making endeavor. Should arrive tomorrow. I don't think I will make it for a while. Maybe when youngest/tallest, and DH go to summer camp for a whole week...(  Snoopy Dance).  That is my vacation time. 😀

Youngest/tallest received his report card, he has advanced to 12th grade, and made the Honor Roll, all 4 quarters this year. He isn't sure what he would like to do. At this time college is not something he wants to do. He is considering something in the trades. He's cleaning his room...( finally)🙌

I posted that picture of the crochet for wordless Wednesday, it has been a while, and I don't even know what I was making, but the colors are pretty as some of you have commented..and by the way...
