Howdee!
I'm squeaking this post in with some pictures of the process I was surprised by the commetns that no one has ever made a lamb cake. Well, until 2019 neither had I so I don't know why I would be surprised I suppose. I just saw the mold somewhere once and thought it would be fun for the boys. As it turned out by the time I got the mold they were not little anymore, but they still like the cake, I had fun and my inner child was amused and entertained, as I play house.
Hortense, my inner creative muse who gets me into many rabbit holes. Some of them actually pan out and are useful and productive. The others are some of Hortense's best work, down that rabbit hole, wasting time and creativity.
. I'm hoping for good results. I last made this in 2019, and made notes because as I recall I had to make 2 because the first one fell apart or something. We ate the cake but it was all broken up. The 2nd one I made came out nice.
I've got the two halves of the mold greased and floured with cocoa powder.

Oh my goodness. I couldn't imagine that lamb cake actually looks like a lamb. I'm not sure where my head is these days. The chocolate would be a huge hit at my house.
to funny Jeanna.
Chocolate would be a big hit here as well. I have seen some lamb cakes, which actually scared me a little bit.
God bless.
I've made a lot of homemade "molded" cakes in my lifetime, but have never come across a lamb mold. Very interesting. Cannot wait to see the end results.
