Howdee!
Usually Monday is the day, I'm a day late and a dollar short this week. It's in the proofing part now, and when the timer goes off, I'll add the rest of the flour and give it a spin for a few minutes.
Today is National Garden Day...how about that? Who knew?
I saw something of interest on you tube, I've ordered myself one and thought maybe you all would have some interest, maybe you've heard of this, and have one. Surely there must be others like me who are totally behind every curve, which I don't think necessarily is a bad thing.
I took a peek at the winter sowing jugs, not impressed this year. Although the Sunflowers have popped up, we'll see how that all goes as the temperature rises.
a short interlude.... talk amongst yourselves.
Ok, I'm back, the bread is on the first rise.
For years and years I wanted to make Lamb Cake for Resurrection Sunday ( Easter). I bought a mold at I think Lehmans, and have only made in the last few years. This year I blew the dust off the mold (just kidding) it is kept in the Spring tub with the all of the holdiay beauties.
Do any of you make a Lamb Cake?
I have completed the bread doily. It needs washed and pressed.

The bread looks very promising! I've never made lamb cake but look forward to seeing yours. And I'm excited to see your Bread doily.
Hahaha, I think you are not the only one who is behind every curve. The planner looks like a nice thing to have. Your loaves of bread look wonderful. I hope your lamb cake turns out for you. Cant wait to see your bread doily! Here's wishing you a pleasant Easter holiday!
Thank you Jeanna, I think I finally figured out the baking bread with fresh ground wheat berries. There was a bit of a learning curve.
I am always behind the curve, and as you say that isn't necessarily a bad place to be. I have never made a lamb cake for Easter, just pies like I do for every other holiday. Hope to see the finished doily very soon.
God bless.
The bread 🍞 looks good and lamb cake is new to me. I do ❤️ love lamb. Happy Easter.
I do not have a garden planner that is pre-printed, but I have two notebooks where in one I can draw out my plan to where I want to plant, and the other to record (simple notebook) our harvest. I have never made a Lamb cake.
I do thank you for stopping & for leaving a comment, blogger is so fun and interactive in that way. We can be creative here. Lamb cake is going to be made today, we'll see how it goes.
Pies are wonderful all the time. We didn't have lamb cake when I grew up, I saw the tin somewhere and thought it would be fun & vintagy. Trying it today....wish me luck.
Hi Linda, the lamb mold is out and greased, I'll be making the cake batter once the butter softenes. I have never had lamb before that I can say for sure.
it is a vintage thing, I always wanted to get the mold and try one, the recipe is included in the pan. I last made one in 2019, and wrote notes because as I recall the first one failed and did not look like a lamb. I keep trying and trying
