Chit chat over the clothesline

 Howdee!

It funny, I was just going to start off saying Howdee, and I thought instantly of Minnie Pearl, bless her heart. She resonated with me, that hat with the price tag dangling from it. Brought a smile to my heart.

Simpler times.

Well, I'm up, had my coffee and we have sunshine today so far.

I'm working on a filet crochet project, down another rabbit hole but we shall see. I saw a very pretty vintage filet crochet doily with the word bread on it. No pattern could be found. I was able to find a graph for another pattern to get me started, and the edging I can fudge off the picture, I think?

This is a photo of one for sale I saw on Ebay or Etsy. I do love scallops.

I might like to frame mine, if I get it finished. The inside portion bread and squares I believe are done filet crochet style; the boarder is added after. So it is going fairly quickly with the open mesh and the letters. (so far) I am workiing on the R now. We'll see, it may end up in the time out corner with dozens of other things I never finished. I hope not.

So far.....

Waiting on some fermentation supplies, in addition to the crock I want to be able to a few things on the go as well. Trying my hand at making some goat cheese too.

Have a beautiful day!

Your mention of goat cheese made me miss our dairy goats we had for five years. I miss having that fresh milk on hand for cheese making. There was only one area person who raised dairy goats near us, and they went thru for closure and lost everything, including goats. I have not been able to find local goat milk, but we found a few places that sell it in the Amish area. It is a drive, so we need to buy a new cooler to take next trip.

Minnie Pearl was one of my favorites. I enjoyed watching Hee Haw and the The Grand Ol' Opry with my grandparents...ah, fond memories. I love the crocheted Bread piece and look forward to seeing yours.

Oh how I love the thread filet crochet "bread" piece. I hope you keep the motivation and get this one finished. It will be gorgeous. I like the added flower? design you added in before the B.

I wonder if that pretty crochet piece with the word Bread in it would be used to line a bread basket? And who can forget Minnie Pearl and her Howdee? 💗

I would love to copy your framed bread crochet project. What's better than a warm slice of bread with butter? Plus the detail and scallops... too cute! Thanks for sharing!

Nice work on the crochet. Looking forward to seeing the finished piece.
Howdy right back at you by the way. My parents loved Minnie Pearl.

God bless.

Thank you

Yes, there were "originally" designed for just that, probably at some lovely luncheon with beautiful plates and delicate glasses. Not for my family who can be rather "messy" LOL.
This one is for pretty if I finish it.
