As I do most morning, I go out and check the back fourty ( I wish), the backyard to see what's doing from the day before.
Today, I finally got my first Morning Glory, they were planted from seed and seems like they've taken a long time. It is pretty though. I'm grateful. I have Scarlet Ohara, and then the lovely blue one, these I'm growing in pots.
I'm going through making notes for next year, I suppose I should write it down, I'll remember won' I?

Your Zinnias are so lovely. My one and only one is a pale pink. Next year I hope to have better luck. Morning Glories are so beautiful. I had nice ones in other years, growing in poor soil. This year DH built a raised box for the ones in the front yard and they look pretty awful. I guess they like struggling so next year they will go back to the poor soil and we'll see. It's always a matter of guess work why some things grow and others don't.
Start some hollyhocks now! Get them a head start! What beautiful zinnias and Morning Glories. As I recall, Morning Glories have to have a long run of good hot weather before they start blooming well. I recall them blooming en masse right before the frosts came.
The colour of that morning glory is very striking. My garden is struggling this year due to the heat here in Saskatchewan along with the fact we have had very little rain.
