To Remember all those who served our country, and especially to those who gave all for our country
We observe Memorial Day.
It is a day of Rememberance, to honor the fallen who have served their country and did not come home. It is to honor their families for their sacrifice.
Is your American Flag flying today? Mine is, everyday in the summertime for sure. My Dad and Uncles were in WWII. They all came home.
Yes,
we have picnics, parades, and enjoy the extra day off from work you may
get, but that is not what it is about. I'm sure there are people
milling about your community who do not know what this day is really
for. Sad. With our education system here trying to erase everything, I'm
sure there are people who have no idea or even care why this day is
observed.
Peace!
I like your new style of post very much. Yes, many are confused about Memorial Day vs Veterans' Day. Memorial Day: The ultimate sacrifice. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
ReplyDeleteBloggers choice to do that, I don't quite no how to "undo" it, so it will stay until the blogger muse decideds they don't like it. The ultimate sacrifice..we give pause..So many don't know.
DeleteWe don't have Memorial Day in Canada, but I took the time to remember our Canadian soldiers who lost their lives in the various campaigns we took part in.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Perfect! Remembering is something all can do for those who lay and lost their lives for their country.
