Hortense Alert!

Yep! She's at it again. But before I make a move, let's talk about it some!

So over the weekend I was looking for cloth napkins, and ran across this beautiful tea towel that I bought and didn'nt know right then what to do with. I knew I wasn't going to use it as a towel. I don't take good pictures, but you can click on the link and see the real mccoy.

I thought oh this would make a cute kitchen curtain, I only have one. So I ordered 3 more. Made in the US by the way. Family Company. It's finished on all the sides and all I would need to do is make the space for the curtain rod. Hmm...the top, what about the top? The valance?  My husband who is smarter than the average bear, pulled out my chicken apron, the cross in the back one I made last year...Here is that picture:

They look pretty good together. I really don't want to cut the tea towels, so I think they will be the curtain part. And the material I have left over from the Apron will be the valance.

I'm "sew" challenged as you know. I've been looking or new curtains and can't find anything which speaks to me...until I saw the tea towel again. It would have lived in the drawer.

they also have one with Geraniums, Poppies, Butterflies & Cat's, all lovely. Very simple and colorful.

So that's my story for today Ladies.

I've got an afghan on the hook a granny ripple, I have not posted on it yet on the Crochet  Blog, it's getting long enough and taking shape that I may soon.

I think your new curtains with the chicken theme will look great. I clicked on the link. My, but there's a lot of pretty linen to see.
I'm 'sew' challenged too and have cut down a sheet I bought at the thrift store to make a sort of curtain for in my garden shed. I have it folded over a curtain rod and will use some safety pins to secure it.

Those fabrics go very well together. I think the curtains and valence will be lovely.

God bless.

You have a crochet blog, too! I need to do some clicking! And following! Oh Hortense, you done good this time, by latching onto that tea towel. I think it's a wonderful idea and the tea towel curtain and "apron valance" will be lovely! I love the Vermont Country Store things, they are so pretty.

I love looking at the Vermont Country Store catalog. We ordered something a few month ago but right now I can't remember what it was. :) The country curtains will be so pretty made from the towels.
