I'm working on some sewing, not at all my forte. But I keep at hoping that one I may actually know what I am doing. It is the journey and hopefully, I can complete this.
I have already cut the pieces out, I'm going to make a Dresden Plate. Yesterday I ordered from JoAnn's a template to cut them out, I used a 60% off coupon, and opted to pick it up at the store, curbside No mask charade for me if I can avoid it.. I ended up paying about $4 and some change. I like that.
So I spend the evening yesterday cutting out the pieces, today I pressed them in half, and tonight I am hoping to sew to make the points. It's a neat little trick. You Tube, has so many talented folks.
It's rainy and chilly, soup on the stove. Last year after Thanksgiving I made some bone broth and tucked it in the freezer, thats what we are having tonight. I had some carrots, and celery on hand, and noodles.Dinner is done.
I worked a little bit on the lights from the last posting or two ago here is the link
I seperated the old frayed cloth wire from the swag chain. The sockets look old, and I can't get the wire out of them. My husband said maybe they were soldered in. So he will look at that. There is no place to unscrew the wires, and the socket itself if white, I can't make out the material, not metal. Feels like clay or porcelain. Best to put all new wiring in it, and what ever it will need.
I'm rotating the contents of the freezer (deep freeze) and my kitchen freezer. So now all the older things are up here, and the new in the deep freeze. It looks like I stocked up alot of chicken over the year and won't be needing any for quite a while. I
I'm determined to use all that up over the next few months. Will have to be creative. How many ways can I disquise chicken. Pot Pie, enchiladas, BBQ, chimichangas. I can hear the clucking, and the feather jokes coming...
Till next time......

Will you make your Dresden Plate pattern using Fall colours? I'm looking forward to seeing it no matter what fabric you choose.
I suppose it's safest to rewire your light fixture completely to ensure it's safe. It sounds as if between you and your husband you can master almost all kinds of fixing-up.
I always use YouTube to learn new things. Just the other day I helped a friend with replacing a weather strip on a car window. We watched a video, and in 5 minutes it was done.
It’s like an online university. 😊
I look forward to seeing your sewing project.
I need to clean my fridge out, and have been putting it off lately. I'm sure there is much to wipe up too. Sounds like you are having fun with handiwork. Can't wait to see photos.
Oh have fun with the Dresden. It’s a little like origami with fabric if you are doing the folding method. Have a beautiful day 🍂🍁
I looked back at the beautiful light you bought. Oh, it's so pretty. Hope we can see it hanging soon. Sounds like a job, getting the freezer contents switched. I've got to clean out our chest freezer. I say that every time the door is opened, then walk away and forget it. :)
No fall colors on this one. Although my favorite color runs through. Hoping that he can get the rest squared away..although it's not on my time. :(
I am a visual learner and so the You Tube works well for me. So many talented and knowledgable people share their tricks of the trade.
Well I did'nt do any wipe up, thats for another day, not a favorite chore at all.
That is how mine got that way. I've had to throw some things out which I don't like to do. Mystery packages and containers I just knew I would remember what they are. I didnt.
Old items are always full of surprises. We have an old cash register that our oldest son says he may take some day and see if he can get it fixed.
You are very brave, I would love to try a Dresden Plate, but I am scared. You have to be so perfect with your folds and stitching.
God bless.
