Good day to you all!
I'm in my hearth ( what a nice word), baking some Sugar Cookies which I posted about yesterday, if you would like the receipe you will find it at the link below. These are no roll cookies. You drop them on the cookie sheet, and press them gently with a sugar coated glass, today I am using orange sanding sugar. And to make a pretty embossed design, my vintage glass creamer.
It is a much cooler day by comparison to yesterday 40 degrees cooler and much more fall like. A perfect day for baking.
May do a little something somethin on the dresden plate. I need to cut a backpiece, and make some binding...should be very interesting.
So do give the cookie recipe a try. It's quick and easy if you are not into rolling, I am not as a general rule, except pie crust which causes me some undue stress, and when I make yeast dough cinnamon bread which is easier for me, and far less stressful.
I got about 42 cookies, some went MIA. The taste testers.
I made the sugar cookies yesterday and they were a hit with our evening guests. My SIL said she thought they were shortbread. I think the icing sugar in the recipe might account for that. I used your tip with the pretty bottom of a glass dipped in sugar and it gave such a pretty effect. That recipe earns a spot in my recipe book for sure.
ReplyDeleteThose look delicious! I love using a cookie press :-)
ReplyDeleteI love easy cookie recipes and will give this a try very soon.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I can find the discs I used years ago to make a design on my cookies. Must hunt them down.
God bless.
Those cookies look amazing. It's very cold for October for sure. Years ago, I'd be picking peppers in the garden. Not this year.
ReplyDeleteHomemade cookies are the best!
