Fabric chit chat

I do send a sincere thank you to those of you who take the time to read and comment. It is appreciated.

I realized from the comments that I didn't tell about the fabric which comprises the Dresden.

Initially, I had a fat quarter pack I picked up at Millers Dry Goods in Amish.

.

I'm considering using the teal fabric for the background of my plate. I have material and would prefer to use what I have rather than purchase more. I've got plenty of fabric for a few more of these plates.

When I found the tutorial as mentioned in my previous posting about this topic. If you missed it, here's the link.

Dresden Plate Update

It was a game changer because you get 2 dresden plates from one 5" square. Measuring & cutting not my forte. I did however make a few of the blades with these materials, by cutting a template 5x5.

The balance of the material I ordered online from Millers Dry Goods, It was a pack of 42 5"squares, A Charm pack.which I thought would give a nice variety.  I'm learning about all of  these "packs",fat quarters, charm packs and jelly rolls.

I have plenty of squares left over, and material from the fat quarter as well.

Also, want to try my hand out at Sunflowers. One side of our house faces due South, all day sun, the soil is hard and brutal. Only the strong will survive there. That's where I planted the Lavenders.

This is a chocolate cherry sunflower. I ordered the seeds from Etsy. I had no idea they came in a variety of colors. It's a stunner....

I love Miller's dry goods. I haven't made one trip to the Amish country this year sadly. We had one booked in April and that was forced to cancel thanks to our government. I hope you are doing well. Every day I listen or hear our Gov. speak I just want to throw something at the TV. Love your fabric colors by the way. I have plans to dig out scraps of fabric for a project soon.

I stopped listening to DeWine months ago. Amy was a mess. Gov DeWine flip flops, and contradicts himself. He lost credibility. Millers is lovely isn't it. Such a nice shopping experience. Enjoy the heat wave we are having, is this our Indian Summer?
