Lemon Verbena

Have you ever inhaled the scent of a Lemon Verbena Plant? Oh my what a treat
These lovelies are new to me, I have one growing in the garden which neeeds to be trimmed. I have already trimmed it once and it is flourishing, the one inside has died, as well as the inside Rosemary,
to much water? To dry with the a/c?  I don't know.
But I've got a stem rooting in water, along with the ever so lovely Rose/Lemon scented geranium.

Rosemary & Lemon Verbena

I had Lemon Balm growing at the beginning of the season, it had no scent that I could detect. Lemon Verbena on the other hand is fragrant & light. I saw a recipe for a cake with fresh Lemom Verbena used in it, I may stir up some muffins today and see how it goes.
Oh there is work to be done here. I didn't get the name of the Cyclone which went through my kitchen, and so I am in need of a "Tidy" as Kate would say.

Peace to you in all you do!

I agree with MM that sounds delicious - tea at your house, what time? :-)

Just yesterday middle son dug out an overgrown old Lemon Balm and was amazed how the scent filled the air. I wonder why yours had no scent.
My scented Geranium is very big ( it's on a windowsill) so I took a slip and am trying to get it to root. So far no luck.
I always thought Rosemary needed a dry soil but the one I bought in Spring says to keep moist. I find that strange that a plant from the Mediterranean area should need a moist soil.
Can you believe the week is almost over? Time sure passes quickly. Have a great Friday!!

Hello Faith. Yes I love Lemon Verbena too ... did you know you can dry the leaves (just air dry them) & use a couple of leaves for a tea - its really delicious & refreshing. I also use the leaves in my citrus potpourri as it has such a gorgeous fragrance. Lovely to follow along with you Faith. Julie xx

I've never grown lemon verbena before, but I want to now :)

I had a rosemary plant and a lemon verbena inside both died. I'm trying to grow each from a cutting, along with the Rose/Lemon scented geranium, it looks like it has a few very thin roots, it's been over 1 month ago I started it.

Julie, following along? Lovely I don't see your icon? But I do see my # went up. Thank you. I would like to collect some dried herb for a project I have in mind which contains beeswax. I'm harvesting calendula, lavender, scented geranium and a few other things. I'll post of it when I've got it together to try.

Jules, it really has a fresh lemon scent, very light and almost fruity. I'm making some LV infused sugar currently.
