Hello Neighbors!
Here we are again around the "virtual" clothesline. It looks of rain today, much needed. I've flung open the windows with reckless abandon, and we dip into the low 80's. Fresh air wafting about the little homestead today. I put up some overnight sourdough yesterday, and now it is in the oven to bake, I've got about 15 more minutes yet. Smells nice...that homey comforting smell....
"Crunchy Crunchy Crust"
We bought some hot hungarian peppers at the farmers market, I've sliced them up and am flash freezing and they'll be added to the ones from our garden.Love harvest time. This time of year with all the harvest and bounty, leading us into a beautiful fall...love it.
I've got the dehydrater up,( for the herbs) I've got some Lemon verbena which is doing very nicely. The Rosemary is coming along too, I'll take a sprig of that and the Calendula's have taken off. I've been pulling the blooms
off in a Morticia Addams sort of way. They say it helps them to produce more. I'll be air drying these, and hope to make something lovely with the dried herbs.

Oh the smell of bread baking - swoon!
Also, that cracked me up (Morticia Addams way:-) heehee
Oh, I would love to cut off a large slice of that bread. It looks delicious. The young deer in your last post is so cute. I was up at the garden one day this week and happened to look up as a mama deer and her twins were crossing the road. I love the deer.
I love drying herbs and the smell that permeates around the cottage.
baking bread is up there on the cozy home smells, comfort and happy.
love me some crunchy bread, oh heck any bread especially homemade. Those
"my dear friends" are so cute I can't be angry they ate my tomatoe flowers.
we harvested some, "my deer friends" at the flowers, so we'll have to wait. I like to fry the hot peppers in butter/olive oil, and put between rye bread...oh my.
isn't it a special simple joy. My garden is small, but it brings me joy.
