Next project Mini Quilt

Well I know that I still have a project on the hoop...but I'm thinking ahead...
I wanted to chat with you about this because once again I am woefully challenged in this area....
I want to sew a mini quilt, those cute ones you see out and about in amish country.
Today I ordered a rotary cutter, a 4.5" ruler, and an fold and press grid mat.

You are all so talented in all different kinds of ways.So if you make mini quilts may I indulge you for a few moments to tutor me? I like to study up on things, research and learn what I can. While I found plenty of information, I don't think any of them were from scratch, in other words from square one
( pun intended).

Yesterday I read about Fat Eights, who knew? Not me. I thought fabric was just ordered by the yard in the old traditional way.

I would like to make the Dresden Plate, or Grandmothers Fan. Something Vintage looking.

That's my story today sticking to it.

Peace!

I hope you find some knowledgeable quilters who can give you advice. I'm so hopeless when it comes to such that I once asked my SIL ( who is a great quilter) what Fat Alberts were. It took her a minute to realize I meant Fat Eights!!

For some reason, if I use my phone to comment, they don't go through. Wish you were closer~ you could come over and stitch. I have a few sm./mini books, I can get the titles if you're interested.
