Virginia Blue Bells

I posted a wee bit about what might be coming up in my wee front garden.
I like perenials. Every year, like clockwork, dependable,  the harbinger of spring. I never fail to get  happy when I see their green leaves poking out of the soil, for I know that soon the air will be filled with the fragrance of spring, and the earth will awaken from her winters nap.

I mentioned Virginia Blue Bells. That I had planted them oh I think this will be the 2nd spring now ago, so 2 years. I didn't even get a hint that they were there last year. And while I'm not even sure if they will come up this year. I do see some action  where I thought I had planted them...ooh I an wait to see. Granny Marigold who is a friend of the blog, mentioned she looked them up to see what they look like.
Oh dear...I am slipping. For the would have been a time when I would have posted a picture.  So better late than never...

These are native to US ( Northeastern). They grow wild here in Ohio, in the park system. We are not allowed to dig or remove anything from the park, unless it is invasive like the wild garlic.
I did order these tubers online.

They are lovely arn't they? I hope to get out today, and snap a picture.Well I'm going to snap a picture of something green growing, whether or not it is the Bluebell remains to be seen.

If you would like to learn more about them
Virginia bluebells is a native wildflower found in moist woodlands and river flood plains in eastern North America from New York to Minnesota up into Canada (Ontario and Quebec), and from Kansas to Alabama. Mertensia virginica is one of about 40 species in this genus of herbaceous perennials with blue, bell-shaped flowers. Other common names include eastern bluebells, Virginia cowslip, and lungwort oysterleaf.
Stay well & safe dear friend. Continue to enjoy the things in your life which bring you joy.

Thanks for the additional info. I have more time on my hands than usual so I went to look up other Bluebells and I found one that has gone crazy in my yard. It all started with a couple of bulbs ( or maybe they're tubers, I'm never too sure) and now I have so many every year. Maybe more purple than blue ones and even some white ( where did THEY come from? I've learned that they are called Spanish Bluebells. Isn't growing flowers fun? I hope your Bluebells come up this year!!

ahh! that is awesome, be sure to take pictures. I "think" they are tubers, I remember them being kind of woodie looking, and not round. It's always a surprise what comes up in the garden.
