The calender "says" it's fall....
The weather says otherwise where I live...
It should be soup time....
but in our house....IT IS SOUP TIME!
For even though it doesn't even resemble fall in any such way....
Folks are sneezing and coughing and all the fun that goes with it.
SO...IT IS SOUP TIME
A pot simmering on the stove,
warming, healing, homemade chicken soup.
Four of us live here, 2 of us already ( not me)...so
a little preventive goodness in our systems.
It seems a wee bit early for this, since the weather is not conducive with what normally comes along with soup weather.
My mother used to say hot for hot, cold for cold! I never understood it then, and don't much understand it now. So while it isn't going to chill down for maybe another day...
We are going to eat hot for hot, and see if we can minimize the duration and stop the spread.
What do you all do for colds?
Today, I heard of a tea which they sell at Starbucks. I don't do starbucks. It's called Medicine Ball. And of course there is a hack recipe for it on the web.
Thu hubster is going to get some of that when he gets home. He is feeling miserable.
Can't hurt. More hot for hot.
Do any of you use a soup tureen?
I don't have one, just asking.
If you have one, does it keep the soup hot?
Well, I hope all of you stay well.

Oh no! The "bugs" of Fall, are around! Even though it's still not Fall, where you are. -sigh- Best of luck with not catching anything!
What do I do for colds? Drink fluids, take regular over-the-counter cold meds, if they seem to fit. My husband is a pharmacist so he knows! Which is helpful.
What I do, to try to prevent the spread of a cold, from one to the other, is..... Put 2 hand towels, where there are only 1, usually. One for him and one for me. Lysol or clean somehow surfaces, which could hold germs. Door knobs, tv clicker, phone, etc,
Insist on "covering mouth/nose when coughing or sneezing." This is only common sense, but......... People have to be reminded! -smile-
And your soup sounds delicious!

I have an old soup tureen but I use it for decorating purposes.
I don't think it would keep soup hot for long. Maybe if it had been scalded before the soup was put in.
I hope you can avoid catching the cold. When my DH gets a head cold he drinks lots of tea with honey and takes lots of naps. Seems to work for him.
We're definitely into soup weather because our temps have turned chilly . . . well, maybe feeling more chilly than they really are because of the dampness and rain . . . and the time of year certainly does signal that it's time for heartier meals than we've had all summer, and that includes thick soups and stews. I just made a big pot of beef stew with lots of veggies yesterday. We'll eat that today now that all the flavors have had a chance to blend and have several meals of it to chuck in the freezer.
For the rare times Papa Pea and I come down with a cold . . . lots of water to flush the system out, extra rest and Vitamin C and zinc. That seems to do the trick for us.
