Hello Friends & Neighbors
Well, how are all of you today? It is a beautiful fall like day here, temperature is perfect, some clouds, and the "hood" is very quiet. I've got my old stove fired up, we had bought some zucchini last weekend at the farmers market. I didn't make what I bought it for. So yesterday I made Zucchini boats with spice italian sausage for lunch for me and my hubby.
The others I grated up one for the freezer and for bread.
This time I made 3 mini loaves. These are banana zucchini breads. A recipe I found while parusing the web. A little later this afternoon, a little candle making.
I've got that last batch of beeswax melted down into smaller pieces, and I got a pillar candle mold from Joann's 60% off some time ago. Today is as good a time as any to get that done. My older son is off today and he is treating me to pizza, so I have some energy for candles. I get so darn tired by mid day sometimes. well, most days. So I parse out what I will do for the day.
Soon it will be candle burning weather, it will be here before we know it.
I bought 2 plantains at the grocery store.
I am going to make Tostones.
This is a green banana, which is sliced and fried, then you mash it flat and fry again.
I'm going to brine it first soak in salt water and garlic.
We'll have these on Sunday, Football season starts, 😒, and we always for the home opener have a little feedbag to celebrate. This year because they are at a Scout Camp, there will no wings.
We are keeping it simple, but delicious.
Well, the breads are done and cooling....and now it dish time. So, I'll go clean that up, and see what else I'll get into for today.

That sounds like a lovely, easy-going kind of day. Kind of like mine today. We went to a moving sale first thing this morning. It was advertised as 'nothing over two dollars'. I found a perfect under-the-bed storage box, hard plastic and it has wheels! Found a few little things for gifts, some books, a quantity of asst colours of thread. I don't really sew but often have to sew on buttons and such so it's nice to have the right colour thread.
ReplyDeleteOnly thing left to do is to bake cupcakes ( from a mix) so I can take them along when we go to visit youngest son tomorrow.

If you are that tired, mid day... Could it be that you are trying to do too much?????????? And your body is trying to tell you so????????
ReplyDeleteI know, busy people don't like this kind of a question. They tend to think they can still do, as much, as when they were 21.

No, I am not 21, you are correct about that for sure. For my body tells me so. Nobody will tell you I try to do too much. No, sadly I am not one of the "A" types ( like my neighbor) who I see cleaning the cracks in the cement driveway of dirt. Really she does this, you could eat off her driveway. No weeds anywhere.

It is surely zucchini season! I keep falling heir to neighbors' zucchinis that have grown to ridiculously large proportions. I have enough frozen now to make our favorite zucchini dishes all year long!
