Let's talk about Herbs shall we?

I'm sure there are some of you who know way more about herbs than I do, it would be a safe be to say, you know alot more about them then I.

I am becoming more interested, and have begun a small little herb garden, in our now defunct square foot vegatable garden, we'll see how that grows.
Just planted
......Lavender
.......Mojito Mint
.......Lemon Balm
......garlic before the frost ( herb) ?
Rosemary yet to go in...still waiting for the seed to sprout
there will be a few others, not to much more.
Basil
Chamoile

What started this is that I wanted to make Queen of Hungary Water. I got to looking into the ingredients and decided I could probably make my own.

What Herb do you grow in your garden?
Do you have a favorite?

I grow a lot, but my herb garden looks like Jurassic park right now, lol! Weeds have gone wild. I plant regular herbs and medicinal weeds - green onion, thyme, oregano, cilantro, parsley, rosemary, lemon balm, calendula (medicinal flower), basil, garlic, feverfew, yarrow, catnip, comfrey, sage, mullein and a few others I just can't remember. I use thyme the most for medicinal recipes, but I love all of them.

Basil is my favorite herb to grow, as it is so delicious and expensive in the stores. I like having a large variety on hand in the garden; mine is a shambles right now but I hope I can start over next year!

Kristina, You have planted quite a few that I would like to plant, Calendula, Comfry, garlic, basil and cilantro. Do you start these from seed, or did you buy plants? I'm hoping to find some of these next year at the farmers market.

Sad to say, we don't grow herbs. But our son next door does, in his family's little garden. :-)

When younger, we grew more items. But not even a tomato plant this year.

We can buy lovely corn and tomatoes and etc., at the Farm Market up the road. It's really much easier.

But good for you!!!!
