Staycation week I know how to have fun

Greetings!

Actually I'm not doing anything, my vacation begins when my youngest/tallest and my dear hubby leave for Scout summer camp.😉
They are looking forward to going, and I'm looking forward to them going. It's a nice break for us. I'm foot loose and fancy free for a week. I was hoping the weather would be cooler, looks like they will have a few hot days.

To Do list ( I know how to have fun don't I )
Finally make the beeswax votive candles.
Crochet my self silly
Clean out a closet
Organize my kitchen spice cabinet

Because I don't have to prepare, shop or cook for a whole week, unless I want to of course, it frees up my liminted energy source for other things. That spice cabinet is getting hazardous. By the time they return, I'll be ready to settle in and cook and bake. I'll have something nice for them when my weary campers come home.

Well, I never posted this, they will be returning home tomorrow ( Sat). It has been a very hot and sticky week, today will be the worst, there is a heat advisory. I got everything done on the list except for the spice cabinet. I finished up the scarf and added the fringe. It needs to be steamed. I made a
blueberry/cherry pie yesterday for when they come home. A little chauffer work today, and the endless basket comes in to play again. I was up at 4:30, and watered the potted plants on the front porch. It was balmy, breezy and so clear. The moon was my nightlight.
Trying to keep perspective, there is always another side of the coin, stay cool and hydrated, for in a blink of the eye, you'll be wearing your gloves and scarves...

  2. Sounds like you have a nice week and enjoyed the process of your chores. The pie sounds delicious, I wish I lived close enough to pop around for slice.

  3. Sounds like you had a good time by yourself. We are under a heat advisory too. We'll be cooling down after Sunday though.

  4. Glad you had an alone vacation! We all need those now and then. This time of year is always so busy around the farm with chickens and hay work. This week has seen long hours and supper as late as 9:00 p.m. But we had a few dry, hot days, perfect for baling hay so we are grateful for what we got to bale.

  5. You too, had that awful heat wave!

I suppose campers do fine, in any kind of weather. -grin-

I don't camp! Family went camping when I was 13 and I never wanted to go again. :-)

Glad you got to stay home, and have yourself a "stay-cation."
