Memorial Day/Remembrance Day

                                                     As we move toward Memorial Day

I'm speaking to the choir. For us older folk, you know & understand the reason for this day. 

Honoring American fallen soldiers.   

For you younger folk....

this is a Memorial, a day of remembrance for those who fought & died for their/our country, it isn't a party day, there is no celebration for people losing their lives.

Yes, we may cook something out on the grill if it warms up, as Memorial Day also heralds summertime, as Labor Day the end of summer. 

I will fly the flag of my country, the American Flag. 

It isn't a Happy day, like 4th of July, St. Patricks, Mothers Day, Christmas. 

There isn't one thing Happy about Memorial Day.  Be respectful. In a country where that is not observed on any manner of routine on a daily basis. At least for this one day. 

Show respect, people are grieving still, and continue to, they have lost people they love.
