Happy Homebody Monday #7 I am a Happy Homebody, How do I know?

Happy Homebuddy Monday!

It's been a minute or two since I've posted on a Monday, so I'm happy to post today. It means I'm doing homemaking things and I'm back on track, doing what I love and what I am meant to do.

I am a Happy Homebody; here is how I know.

* I would rather be home than anywhere else.

* I keep my home respectably presentable.

* I simplify my craft by keeping things organized.

* I don't like time wasted, and appreciate value added ways of completing tasks.

* I take great joy in making fresh bread for my family.

*  I keep my hands busy creating & crafting, not hoarding & hauling.

* I serve my family, it brings me joy, sustains them and shows love.

* Living with peace, simplicity, and guidance from the Lord who is not the author of confusion.

The list could go on and on.

What makes you a Happy Homebody?

I rather enjoyed this, and I think we'll do it again. It is good to be reminded why we do things, what brings us joy, and how we serve those we love.

    A brief takeaway...

If you are old enough remember Donna Reed the tv show? She vacuumed with high heels on and wore pearls. I remember asking my mom why she didn't wear pearls when she vacuumed, she just laughed, I was a wee girl. So, somewhere between Donna Reed, and doing absolutely nothing at all is where we should be landing. The Hustle culture was alive in 50's, promoting false expectations, just as it does today in a Kardashian world, neither of these are centered although I would hazard to say one is more centered than the other, you decide which one.

Does this mean then?

I never have dirty dishes...no

the laundry doesn't pile up...no

that it is picture perfect...no

that I don't get tired...no

that I don't want to cook today...no

that I must do all and be all...no

that I prioritize...yes I try

that I plan ...yes, I try

do I see the added value in what I do...yes

is perfect in every way good or even healthy...no

do I keep up with the Jones's, No.

I am a plan in motion; there is room for improvement, there is peace & freedom to be found in being uniquely me. There is a way out.

Choose this day whom you shall serve.

I do hope you enjoyed this Happy Homebody Monday.

I'd love to hear what makes you happy about your homebody days.

be of Good Cheer!

Faith

Well, I'm definitely a Happy Homemaker too and share most of the points you name. I'm happy that anyone can come over almost anytime and find my house relatively neat and tidy. Organizing is actually enjoyable to me ( which puzzles my husband a lot).
