How is my starter doing? Teachable moments

Howdy Happy Homebuddies

I'm on day 10 of the starter. I would not say it is an overall successful starter (yet).

I stirred it again today; it has a slightly sour aroma. I add some water and it is bubbly a little bit. So progress is being made, on it's time not mine.

For giggles I did the float test... a drop of starter in a glass of water. I got the result which I already knew, but thought why not? It sank. If the sourdough was ready it would have floated.

I went back and read the recipe again. I misread it the first time and so I added more fresh ground flour and a tad bit more water. It may have set it back some.

As everything in life does, it has teachable moments.

Slowing down, being more intentional about what I am doing. Sometimes I find myself rushing or feeling rushed & don't enjoy the process of doing. This is something which I am working very hard at. The world tells us go faster, do more, be more.

That is what the world says. The "They's"

I say NO not so much!

This process is teaching me patience, waiting on the process, & not expecting instant results.

Everything which has value

is added value to our lives it's worth doing & experiencing it as it should be.

So, I'll wait for mother nature to make excellent sourdough.

Be of Good Cheer!

I am not the most patient of people, so reading about your teachable moments is helping me decide if I should even try sour dough.

God bless.
