Finished these up for the senior home, I just pressed them out on an old towel. I have a vintage ironing board that is very sturdy & heavy, didn't want to drag it out.
You simplify when you can.
This is not my design, but you can find it
with a tutorial, it is a 2-dimensional heart, I just made half of it.

I donated my ironing board ages ago but I do use a folded towel on the counter in the laundry room for ironing. That works just fine.
