Getting back in the routine

Howdy Happy Homebuddies!

Well the holidays are done & dusted as they say. 2 cookies remain in the cookie dish. The tree is still up and will be until after 3 Kings day, January 6th. This week I'll begin pulling off the hand made/crochet ornaments, and packing them away. I always miss the lights of Christmas don't you?

We are gaining daylight, heading toward spring.

I'm up early as usual, it is still dark and I've lit a beeswax candle & have the tree on. Getting a cuppa when it's ready and will begin my day.

I had some beef bones left over from New Years dinner, I put them in a soup pot with the vegatables scraps I've saved and made a nice broth. Today I'll strain it off. Another good day for soup.

Do you keep your vegatable scraps to make broth?  We tried a cup of warm broth yesterday and it was very good. Not salty, flavorful.

I'm hoping to make some beeswax tapers this weekend, I'm not out but we are getting low. I've been lighting one each morning as I sit in the dark until the sun rises. It's cozy.

Wishing for you a week of endless opportunities to enjoy, create, and be thankful.

WindRose Mandala

Reminds me of a snowflake. It is a doily, but I attached it to a large ring and display in the window .

Faith, it sounds wonderfully peaceful at your home. I always find it nice to get back into a routine at this time of year.

God bless.

Yes, I do miss the tree all lit up but it's nice to get the house back in order again. We left one long string of blue lights in the sunroom. I think we'll leave them there permanently.
I should keep the veg scraps but I don't. The idea of a nice pot of soup appeals to me. Tuesday's supper?
Our sunrise is still after 8 o'clock. I'm so looking forward to sunshine and warm weather.
I hope it's not too late to wish you a Happy New Year!!

I made great efforts to save scraps for broth making, but we had very little gatherings this past holiday season, and I was/still am in recovery mode. I love the mandala. What a beautiful snowflake pattern. My Mom would have love that one.
