Hello Homebodies!
I hope this finds you well.
Easing into the holidays, oh my they are coming around fast. This time of year it seems to pick up speed, until after Christmas.
I've started some baking for Christmas, I've made some Peanut Butter Blossom dough, and popped it in the freezer, it does save me some time. I also made a poppyseed roll, and have enough dough to make a nut roll, we'll see.
I did make a loaf of bread from the Einkorn berries with some success, and will be making some more items with it. The bread is very different from Amish White Bread which I used to make, and it is different from the Hard Wheat bread I currently make in that it is more dense. The berries when milled into flour is handled differently as it does not need to kneaded harshly. It almost reminds me of a banana bread or coffee cake when it's bake.
I hope to replace regular white flour which is not nutritive at all with the Einkorn. As I mentioned in the last posting ( I think) Einkorn is an Ancient Grain, it is higher in protein, and has many additional nutrient value added vitamins and minerals natural to the berries not added by humans.
We had one winter like day, and maybe a light frost. Temperatures are more seasonal, and tomorrow may be 60 degrees. It is coming, it always does usually around February. I collecting some patterns I want to work on, and preparing for Chrismas.
So that is about it for me...

So you're liking the bread which you made using the Einkorn flour. The texture sounds interesting but good. I have ideas of what I'll make for Christmas but first I have to find out how many we will be. The days are past when leftovers disappeared into growing sons. The joy definitely is in the making💗.
It sounds as if you had a lovely time experimenting with the new flour. While we are cold here (could be colder of course) the sun is shining and our visit with our youngest went very well.
God bless.
