Hello Dears
Here we are rounding the corner to Christmas, there will baking & wrapping in the week to come.
We've had our white Christmas twice, it comes and goes. If it didn't snow again it would be ok with me, living in a city, it isn't the same, and if you live in one you know what I mean. If you live rural, God has blessed you by sparing you of the details.
I've made 3 types of cookies this year, Peanut Butter kisses, Russian tea cakes, and thumbprints. I did the other day make some cinnamon rolls while I was feeling ambitious, they as well as the cookies are all made ahead and frozen as I have the ambition to make them. They will be thawed and baked, not all in the same day, just over time. Keeping things simple for myself.
I do look forward to the New Year, new ideas, plans, and just the newness of it. I've ordered the Farmers Almanac planner as I do every year. This is the 2025 version, you can order it directly from Farmers Almanac, I ordered mine from Amazon, along with another book, to share.
On the crochet front, I was able to find the quick stiff product at a local craft store, so I can finish the Crinoline Lady, and the Christmas wreath ( the posting for the wreath) I havn't posted yet about the Crinoline lady, but have a post in the works.
I'll hopefully finish these up on Monday, and can move on to something else, I don't know what that will be at the moment.
But.......
I did find some nice yarn and purchased 2 skeins, at a local craft store. They are Christmas yarns, but not traditional colors, they are more muted. I don't usually purchase yarn without a project in mind, because this is "Christmas" yarn, it most likely be around after, and I may not find it again. In fact I tried to purchase 2 more of the colorway, and the big box told me they don't have any more. Hmm. Perhaps after Christmas they might have it, I heard one of the employees tell a customer there is an entire truck which needs to be stocked. Hmm. Maybe by then I'll decide 2 is sufficient.
Big Twist Value Colorway Yuletide
This year we have the white lights on the tree, we alternate between the colored and the white lights.
I like them both, and grew up with the colored lights, they were big bulbs which got really hot, not like todays light sets.
What is your favorite light color for your Christmas tree?
~ The joy is in the making~
