It's snowing !
In our area/zone 6 planting should be done after the last frost, which for most of my life has been May 30th. The Almanac is April 29th. By the time May 30 arrives, my little seedlings will be a little more sturdy.
I'm baking today cinnamon rolls (from scratch) by request from my hubby, he's been dropping hints all week long.
Sometime this morning, a special angel put a sign in our front yard, class of 2020.
It had a picture of my son in his senior picture.
I lost it.
I broke down and cried. I'm glad he didn't see me. Being a 18 yr old teenager, he was still sleeping.
There are many of hero's everyday....
and our children who have spent 12 years of their life preparing for this big day
are our hero's too.
Warning!
Going on Rant HERE:
Their world is now forever changed. Nothing ever goes back to the way it was. As if life wasn't scary enough for them. We as parents are not sure what the road ahead should look like. We are all going through this at the same time, but I'm not so sure as the why.I don't think it is as obvious as "they" would like us to believe.
The health director ( non elected) but appointed in our State of Confusion Ohio would like for us to be mandated to wear masks like seat belts everyday, said it would be a dream of hers for us to carry health certificates, and is now looking for "volunteers" so the health department can go to your home and check your blood and do flu sample, for contact tracing ( surveilance) no doubt.
The Governor looks looks like a deer in the headlights,
and I'm wondering who is really running this show.
And you don't things havn't changed a wee bit?
Freedom? Rights? Being taken away an inch at a time.
I'm not so sure I would have handled it like the young people are doing today, but then I have the benefit of living a longer time, and realize my freedoms & rights my father & uncles fought for in WWII, all the battles before and after are being forgotten.

I said at the beginning of this it wasn't the virus I was scared of , it was people. My opinion
hasn't changed one bit.
Wonder what Besty is thinking about here?

Congrats to your son!!! I have a niece in the same boat. I feel for the young - they have no idea what to count on (nor do we.) And, I looooove homemade cinnamon rolls ;-)
I know once this is over (pretty sure there will be a second wave as Asian countries are having theirs now) it will be a different world totally.
God bless.
It must have been a very special, thoughtful person who put the sign and picture of your son on your front yard. No wonder you cried. Grad is such a big deal and an entire generation of mostly 18 year olds are not getting to celebrate it.
I'll bet your cinnamon buns are supper delicious! Cinnamon buns are one of my favourite sweets and I make them often ( using my breadmaker).
I must admit I'm also worried about the freedoms we're losing. Will we get them back after Covid threat is over? Who knows.
Excellent rant. I agree with you. I never "got it" why this virus was so much worse than any other potential pandemic we've been faced with in the past. The scary thing has been how many folks simply laid down their rights without question. Even now, when we're able to analyze and see how terribly wrong the models were, some folks still want to hide their heads in the sand. It doesn't make sense.
On the other hand, cinnamon rolls on a snowy day make a lot of sense!
We didn't get snow, but we got frost and almost a freeze. I have to cover things up again tonight. So frustrating. I too am fed up with how Amy A is treating us. I don't wear a mask much and try to shop where it's not required to build up our immunity. I read somewhere there will never be buffets again, nor dancing at wedding receptions. I hope they are wrong.
Kristina, Amy A has to go. I don't wear a mask and have no intention of doing so, I will not patronize anywhere where one is "required", I have written Gov deer in the headlights a few times. I think he has snapped. Not wearing a mask does indeed build our immunity. They can take away the buffets, but can they really stop us from dancing at weddings, and having 11 people over for a party? Our rights are being infringed on big time. They are wrong. I'm going to stop at the nursery today if I can go in without a mask, I'll look for spearment seeds for you.
Leugh, I thank you for stopping and leaving a comment. You are welcome here anythime. I hope you stop again. Agreed!
