Hello All!
Been moving the hook alot last few days, it is so therapeutic and relaxing.I played chicken with the orange thread like I mentioned in the previous posting. I almost made the entire medium pumpkin #2, short just 2 rows. I'll make it work. Stash busting, one less of ball of crochet thread in the stash. Have a different color for the small top pumpkin It's all good.
Stiffening the large one today I think....making chilli for supper. It's up and simmering along. So I've got a moment...
I should.....
wash the kitchen floor π
Crochet some moreπ
both could be done...one should be, the other must be....hmm?
any guess which is which? π΅
it could be worse....at least I have a mop.
Well....let me get the bucket, it won't wash itself. I did crochet a little today...and now show my kitchen some love....
and then.....I'll try to stiffen the punkins
Shoppe is up, nothing is available yet. Will be pouring soon. Please stop in from time to time to see what may be happening, while I mind the beeswax. It all ever evolving, so for now it is what it is.

Beeswax Business....
I've decided to purchase a pouring pot to melt the wax in. I purchase the beeswax in 1# bricks from the beekeeper it cannot be broken, it should be melted and I need a deep container with a pouring spout so I don't waste a drop of the precious beeswax. So, I went to AC Moore the other day, and picked up some cotton wicks for the candles, and was happy to find they carried the pour pot. $24.99. Not today...and not that price.
So when I checked out, my receipt had a coupon for 50% off a regular item.π It can't be used until August 4th, so I'll go up and get one. If I'm going to do this, it should be done right.
Well, I was able to do both & the bathroom in for good measure. While I was waiting for drying, I set the punkins in the stiffner and set about shaping them, they are already almost dry. If my memory serves me, I think that these need to be sealed with something so they will not be affected by moisture or dampness and loose their shape. Hair Spray? Clear Finishing Spray? It would not be good if they loose their shape after assembly.

And
I can get to the bricks of beeswax, and get something made. The pouring
pot holds up to 4 lbs of wax, I can melt one # at a time safely, that
would be 8 votives.

Pumpkin in process, this is the larger one. |
Beauty & Peace to you in your day π
Beautiful makes. Thrilled you managed to get a coupon to make the pot more affordable. Maybe a thrift store if you have one locally?
ReplyDelete-smile- Welll, it looks like I do not have a hobby, at this time.
ReplyDeleteBack in time, I did paint in oils, charcoal drawings, very simple Jiffy sewing projects.... But have not done anything, which would be considered crafting, in a long time.
For some time, I guess my *hobby* has been, my blog. How it looks. New Headers. Looking for lovely art/photos, to post. Taking some photos, with my little camera, to post.
And mainly, posting. Finding things to talk about, on my blog. Filling my "need" to w-r-i-t-e. That's my hobby.
And of course, reading/commenting in the blogs of those, who read/comment in mine. To me, this is a very, very important part, of blogging. Interaction....
We each do, what brings us joy...
Keep enjoying your hobbies...

ReplyDeleteThat is what makes blogging so fun, we learn and share out collective talents. You are an artist, that is not only a hobby, but a talent. So glad your hobby is blogging, because I enjoy reading :)
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job making BeeLights an attractive site.
ReplyDeleteThat 50% off coupon will make your next purchase much more reasonable.
I'm looking forward to seeing the completed pumpkins.
