Moving about smartly

For Today

A little work on my week potted garden plants....they look tired. They have been blooming lovely all summer through all that heat. Coming to the end of their cycle.,,,,

A little deadheading today, and a nice cool drink to refresh them......
Filled the little bird bath with water, we musn't forget the wildlife, birds, butterfly's, bee's and bugs all need a drink too.....

Collected a few dead seed head for seeds to scatter for next spring. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I'm always amazed either way.,,,,,
A short trip to JoAnn's today, 60% coupon, I'm going to get a pillar candle mold.....
Roast in the slow cooker today...,,,,
I'm thinking.....to bake something.....I've been thinking that for days...but havn't done anything about it..the peach pie Gone......
I've got something small on the hook, just busy work making something pretty...

  1. Hello Faith, thank you for always commenting on my cooking blog as well.......it is combined with my embroidery blog so I cant post as "My Country Kitchen" it just shows Yesteryear Embroideries. Anyhow, I am glad you enjoy some of the recipes on the blog. I really need to post more on it........just always get side tracked. I love your sweet post today! The heat here has been in the 100 plus for 10 days......yesterday......107. My plants are doing their best to just hang on.......but look very weary. And you are right........the wildlife, birds and insects need water so I keep a lot of containers around the house. A bobcat came up to drink the other day.........such a lovely creature. I got a good photo of it .....and it was panting from the high heat. A roast in the oven is always such a delicious meal! Love your sweet little crochet/knitted heart! With the high temps, I have been staying in more working with my needle. Have a good day!

  2. How I wish I had a Joanns closer! I love that store and they always have such great deals. I posted from my embroidery blog that your heart looks so sweet......but is it felted or is it crochet? It is lovely! My garden and flowers are looking very sad and weary from our high temps. 107 yesterday........100 plus for the past 10 days . I leave a lot of water containers around for all of the wild things to drink from. I need to post the bobcat photo when it came to drink the other day. I love roast cooking in the oven! Such a wonderful meal! Have a great day!

  3. All my flower beds look tired; however marigolds, zinnias, and one late-blooming daylily give a little color to the drab foliage of the other plants. I've been gathering seeds also and I agree, sometimes they sprout and sometimes not. Hey, I actually baked some cookies and brownies this week!

  4. You have such a pretty blog. I love that wreath. Did you make it? I did a little work outside this morning too...for as long as I could stand the heat and humidity. I want to save the seeds from the few spider flowers that are blooming now. Henny

  6. It sounds like a lovely day, ordinary and filled with little chores and pleasures. The best kind. I was happy that I could access your blog today. Sometimes I can't. I get a page that says 'this blog is for invited only' or something similar.
