Over the clothesline chit chat...vintage finds.

A few years ago in a nearby city, there was a lovely store The Red Geranium, isn't that a cute name for a treasure trove store?  I was sad when the lady sold it, the new owner tried to make a go of it, and they closed most recently. I've found that they've relocated less than 2 miles from my home..
Is that good or bad? Depends on who you ask, me or my husband !😏

So today, I'm on my own, I don't have to cook, my husband and youngest tallest our camping with the Scouts. My older son is home, and he treated me to Arby's so I don't have to cook or wash 1 dish...makes my day..I "should have" gone clothes shopping as I am need of a few things. I'm not big on clothes shopping...BORING!
I decided to visit The Red Geranium, what a lovely shop, they take consignments, and they have venders who rent space. I've bought several items over the years, the aluminum cake holder in my collage is from there.
I made some soap today from the honey brick I bought at Lehmans,I added rose  scent, and found a lovely soap mold with roses, looks so Victorian. So I was hoping to find a lovely vintage little vessel of some kind....
Enough you say...what did you get today?

It's a sweet little dish $3.00

Flower on other side
filled with the soap..

Lovely needlepoint clutch, it even has the old fashioned clasp, $6.00

Lee Wards Steel Crochet hooks size 0-14 $3.00

These crochet hooks were made in Japan. I love how the generation of my mother and grandmother took such care of things. This container looks brand new. I wonder when I buy these kinds of things, who the woman was, what she liked to make.

Hi Sandra, thanks the chit chat over the clothesline. The soap making is the shortcut version, I bought a brick at Lehmans, this one is the Honey Soap. You melt it gently in the pan and pour into a mold. You can add scent and color. I added rose scent. They had lilac, lily of the valley, honeysuckle... If you can crochet with yarn, you can crochet with thread, the stitches are the same only a little bit smaller, use a size 7 or 8 steel hook.
