Here it is the middle of the week already. All the snow is gone, and I'm glad for it. Today 50 degrees on the weather merry go round.
I've got a few things I'd (like) to do today, we'll see how much gets accomplished. I've got the bodice of the St. Patricks apron sewed, and need to cut and sew the straps. I picked up more St. Patricks fabric and made a tablecloth, as I did not have one. I could have finished both projects in one day. I've said before not a seamstress, and I don't hurt myself trying. So the projects are done piecemeal. It's a happier place for me.
That should take care of the sewing bug for this year.
Bread has been requested today, and so I will do that. My bread doesn't rise as much this time of year, it is still good but not as tall as I would like. I tried putting it the oven with the light on, steam etc..nothing beats it like summertime humidity and heat, at least it's good for something.
Pondering making more sourdough starter, what I made last year is good for only 1/2 cup. I didn't make much so I would waste if it didn't turn out. The recipe which I have linked to works.
How to make starter can be found Here.
I find that the method works the best for me, I've tried more than a few. I will tell you this is not a recipe which you babysit. No constant feedings. That is one thing which I did not like about making sourdough, this recipe is a game changer. Feed it and forget it.
Sat and was a lazy bum yesterday and crochet up this little bit.
DishSoapDress
Thats my story & I'm sticking to it.
Darling dishsoap dress! I've not had a ton of luck with SD starter myself. Our house isn't very warm this time of year which is when I want the bread 🥴
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea for the dish soap cover.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
If you have a dehydrator, you can place your bread in there to rise. My larger one has trays big enough to do that, and it even has a "rise bread" on the temperature dial. I have also made yogurt in mine (also on the temperature dial).
