From the hearth today

Hello out there!

Moving about in the kitchen today, I decided that I shall make some scones, and to go with it clotted cream. I've never made either.

Clotted cream has been on my bucket list to make and since I knew that I had to have that done before I made the scones, I popped the cream in a low oven overnight on Thursday. There was a lovely scent floating around when I woke up, which reminded me it was in the oven. 12 hours in a 170 oven. And once cooled another 12 in the fridge.

The clotted cream came out very good, I will make it again sometime as a treat, not something I would want on a regular basis. The scones came out very good, and the recipe s a keeper. I could have rolled them out less, but the taste is very good.

Something fun to do on a winters day. Moving the hook is coming up. I finished crocheting the cardigan, and have sewn front to back, I need to do the arms yet. I was rather tired of working on it, and needed a color change, so I'm working on an afghan for my youngest son now. I'll get back to the cardigan and finish it up.

Enjoy your day!

Mmmmm! Clotted cream on scones sounds delightful. I've been tempted to try making some but so far haven't done so. GM
