A simple joy

 Good Day!

We're in a rainy period here for a few days before the heat returns. The tomatoes in my garden and yes it appears even the wee little pepper seeds I planted may come to be. All looks good so far.

I went out this morning and checked in on the Lavender, cut a few more sprigs, and tidied up the rose bush, cutting off the faded blooms, I'll let them dry, as with the Lavender, and I picked a few Honeysuckle as well.

Is your Lavender in bloom already? My little row looked so pathetic in Spring but has really grown and is full of buds but none are open yet.

We need rain too. Our soil is very sandy and water quickly soaks away. Each day there's watering to do. So far we're using rain water from one of the many water barrels around the house and shed but I can see I may have to unroll the hose before long unless we get a good rain.

I should really pick my lavender as well. Must do so tomorrow.

God bless.

You are going to have some very nice potpourri with those blooms when they dry!

I'm going to look into the rain barrels, rain water does such a beuatiful job making healthy plants. My lavender isn't big, but I do have more than last year, even after the transplant. I'm drying it now, still a bit more to pick.

everything is so lush and green after the rain, a steady not hard rain did wonders.
