Whether it's wordless or wonderful, here is the post for today.
Hmph! Can't think of anything to say? What you say ?
How about a picture? Maybe it will conjure up some conversation?
What kind of picture? hmph?
Oh bother!
Here is a throwback. This was my "kitchy" cabinet before she became mine. She sat in this same corner for 3 years, while I tried to give my DH a clue. 3 years. This is at the Amish Flee market,
Finally, I called and the nice gentleman measured her for me to see if she would fit in the van.
I told my husband the measurements, and he measured the van, put the seats down, and off we went to pick her up. She just fit ! She went from the back to the front. I sat in the back with her to keep her steady.
This is her when we got her home photo, I was cleaning her up, and getting ready to paint
Here she is in all of her lovliness. I wish I knew her history. I get the feeling she may have been part of a pair. Perhaps on either side of a window seat or something.
All "dolled" up! You can't see it in the photograph, I'll have to see if I have one more clear, but she has cute little glass door knobs, and that doily trim off the shelves.
,
"She" is a sweet heart! Maybe more so, since it took a long time, to get her. :-)
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be lovely, if old furniture came with a tiny "history," attached to it? But of course, when people have a piece of furniture, they simply use it, or enjoy it. Never giving mind to a future, when it has passed on, to someone else.
But, it's still a lovely idea. To know the history, of such household items....
And see! You thought you didn/t have anything to say! And then you did. And you got this long comment, from me, from it! :-))))
Lesson.... We worry too much, about what to blog about!!!!! :-)
✨🌻✨
It's adorable! No wonder you wanted it. :) I'm glad your husband finally took the hints.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your new cabinet and how you've arranged things in it. In fact, maybe someday you'll post more pics of your kitchen. I love getting little ideas that I can use in my kitchen. After all, if we're going to be spending time in there we should surround ourselves with prettiness.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help smiling when you said you called to get the measurements of the piece, then your husband measured the van and put down the seats. It surely did bring back some memories for me when we did the same thing. We almost got into trouble a time or two, but always managed to get home with our "new" old piece. Your piece is lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful piece, stunning.
